In order of appearance for the Lotus Petal part and the other cards, foreign languages are as follow; Chinese(don't know if it's traditional or simplified though) Korean(you can tell by the many circle like symbols) Japanese(mostly represented by the way the text differs from the chinese cards) the first Buried Alive is in korean, and finally Lion's Eye Diamond is in french. You missed the foreign Cataclysm by the way, and it's in japanese. The foreign Carpet of Flowers is in chinese. The alledged Price of Progress(red Exodus rare card) is in japanese. I just love the art, and the card. I love magic the gathering. I was around at the time this was in play. I didn't like the look of the booster packaging at the time and it looked a bit cheap. There were a lot of other CCG at the time as well. I also live close to an area called Wyvern and it sounded a bit silly. Now how ever it makes sense and I would give it a go. I tend to not spend much time watching videos about magic the gathering because it brings back the memory of how I screwed myself really bad by selling a collection for the sake of social status risks involved with being a magic player in my high school. I began collecting very late alpha and had 2 full sets of beta, multiple full sets of unlimited, and close to both the Arabian Nights and Antiquities collections. I still kinda chuckle over the fact that I had my Ali from Cario in a thick enamel case to keep it mint while playing in casual games nearly daily the beta lotus, dual lands, timewalk, timetwister, and pretty much all the high value cards to collectors today that seemed like cool, but not lock in a safe and bury it ultra valuable back then. Once the Alpha lotus hit over 100 median value in the becket I kinda wised up and started protecting the cards better. I sold off my entire collection about 1 week into the release of the 5th edition, but started ramping down my obsessive like collecting when Ice age was released. The only thing I have left of what would have been a multi-100k or more collection that I sold off for a mere I think 7 grand in 98 is a sealed in plastic wrap starter deck from beta my grandmother got me for a gift but then forget to give it to me that was found buried in a kitchen drawer almost a decade ago after she passed away. It's unlikely I will ever sellit nor open it, but it's always tempting to do both when I think of the game the collection I once had. Anyways, I'm sure this is a story countless others have told as well, but there is mine. I tell it at random maybe once or twice a year as I find myself watching this type of content. It was a truly fun game that I really enjoyed playing, so much so that I spent nearly every day at the card shop playing with others during summer break freshman year in 94. Good times...

We had this game in our local small town (>5000) shop in Iowa. A lot of the more gothy artsy kids would play it while the nerds were crowding over the arabian nights cases and trying to pick up the new scrye magazine. Do Highlander TCG one day, it was a neat game that created a system a lot of games borrow heavily from.

Yugioh is still the best card game of all time but it was beaten by vanguard knowing that vanguard is easier to play while yugioh became a bit easier of control with to many monsters now to summon is a bit hard since they did not change the extra deck rules and other rules. vanguard is better and easier. I might not play some of the card games that I have seen but playing yugioh, duel masters, and vanguard is enough for me. but magic the gathering as the first not bad but for me the easier game to play is yugioh and vanguard as the best games of all time.

Yugioh should be number 2 it's the best. I think the only real competition is between yugioh vs pokemon vs mtg. i like yugioh above all but i hear great things about mtg. might try it out eventually. For me these were still treasures... Best TCG is obviously Magic the Gathering. So many format, that this game has, I HAS to be so favourised by so many. But I miss a bit of Weiß/Schwarz. Blame no, that isn't a joke. Blame the prime subscription service tripled the demand for cardboard in the USA. We should be thankful that things aren't even more cheaply made than they are. In order to maintain both the profit margins and card quality that MtG had in around 2007, they'd have to increase the cost of booster packs by around 25.

Where is buddyfight. Enjoyed this game in the late 90s. In my opinion and I think a lot of people will agree with me 4 should have been cardfight vanguard because of its popularity. 3 should have have been pokemon TCG because its not that popular anymore and the only thing keeping pokemon alive is the games and show. 2 should have been yugioh because it is still doing amazing despite how old it is and how they are still making new cards as well as providing for there fans 1 and number one should stay as magic the gathering because of obvious reasons And before anyone says this list is probs biased about the rankings my favourite is yugioh and if I could I would put it as number 1 but I have respect for other TCG's and will not let my biased opinions get in the way.

I feel like the descriptor you're probably looking for when you say hand drawn art is that it has a more painterly look, and that's fair. I like painterly art too. Rebecca Guay is far and away my fave MTG artist and Elvish Piper is my favorite art in the entire game. But honestly, there's nothing wrong with digital painting, and as a production method it's much cheaper and faster to do than the alternative. I can't even imagine how expensive MTG cards would be if they required their artists to submit their work via traditional media. Petals were common and easy to get a lot of. there also was a reason, there was a degenerate deck with lotus petals that won on turn 1 75% of the time with new Paris mulligan. Wih-verne Like a winged beast. Im in the process of collecting harmless offering from EMN. SOI was the first set i started playing in, and i loved the theme of innistrad. when eldritch moon rolled around, and for that brief time with MAO still in standard, i saw the card stated above, in a grixis control deck with demonic pact. ever since playing against the deck, i found the card to be somewhat trolly and i love the art and flavour. the card will remind me of that game against the demonic pact deck. so i will collect every copy of it that i can.

This is a great list and you listed pokemon magic and you gi oh correctly even though these noobs won't admit it. Small detail you forgot to mention was that pokemon had a momentary discontinue in cards and tournament and they were only collectibles till the rights were sold by the creator to another company who then used people in different, just regular average Joe's, to host tournaments and get the word out. This resulted in pokemon becoming more popular than Yu gi oh especially since it came back during the peak of Yu gi oh and when ygoh was losing popularity. While the game still lingers it's not that popular and pokemon has stolen ygoh spot becoming bigger and more popular. Then there's dear old magic that never lost popularity and in fact became more popular as the years went on. In fact it's the one game you must learn to make nearly any ccg, tcg ir lcg easier to learn.
